GETTING AWAY WITH MURDER (1996) It was an incredible amount of fun working on this show with producer Roger Berlind. I love murder mysteries and of course, anytime I can get to meet with Stephen Sondheim is a cause for celebration in my book. Both men fell immediately in love with my image of the revolver-toting gargoyle. The poster was used as presented, with no changes whatsoever (a rarity!) Unfortunately, the show was pelted with negative reviews. Giving credit due to gentleman producer, Roger Berlind, he approved running the New York Times’ “last 12 performances” ad with the image of our devilish icon now holding the gun to his own head with a quote from Linda Winer, “The gargoyle is adorable!” You can see the actual print ad in the PRESS section of this website.
