FOOTLOOSE (2011) The Rodgers and Hammerstein Organization licenses the stage production of this musical based on Dean Pitchford’s classic screenplay. Since the remake of the film was about to be released, R&H asked me to create a poster for the re-release of the Original Broadway Cast Recording. The goal was to design CD cover artwork to reflect a more contemporary graphic sensibility while retaining the feel of the original movie image. My greatest thrill was getting to meet with Dean Pitchford to discuss the project. We did so at great length with the conversation eventually veering toward subjects as varied as the upcoming revival of Carrie to the fabulous “La Loop” neckware from Robert Marc on Madison Avenue! When the project was finished, Dean sent me a wonderful email about the great “reviews” he’d been hearing about my artwork.
